Magee-Womens Specialty Center
The UPMC Altoona Foundation has raised nearly $700,000 toward its $1 million goal to support the new Magee-Womens Specialty Center. The center is making dramatic strides in discovering and treating breast cancer in our region. The volume of screening mammograms has risen by 30 percent at the center in the last year. Mammograms are in the forefront of early detection and treatment of breast cancer.
A gift to the center will directly support the latest tomosynthesis breast imaging equipment at the center. Genetic breast counseling is supported with Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC for patients who cannot afford to pay for the services. Your gift has an immediate and personal impact on a patient.
